There’s something about the robes that buddhist monks wear that is so beautiful.  I can’t remember if all wear the same color, but red is certainly the most common.

One of the things I love best about the ocean is that there’s always a whole lot of sky.  Recently I realized that for the year I’ll be living in Tanzania, I’ll be away from the ocean.  Having always lived in places where the beach was easily accessible (Oregon, Hawaii), there has never been a twelve month period that’s passed when I haven’t been to the beach multiple times.  It’s a strange and sad feeling to realize I’ll be without it for that long.
